Who is Colin?

In March 2023 I gave up a successful practice at the Bar to devote my time to mediation, having been accredited by CEDR in 2000. Before being called to the Bar in 1997, where I specialised in employment and discrimination law, I spent 15 years as a trade union officer. Now I am a full time commercial and community mediator with a wide-ranging practice that has included disputes concerning property, wills, pensions, contracts, neighbours, landlord and tenant as well as the full range of employment and discrimination issues. 

As a member of the Association of Northern Mediators and the Civil Mediation Council and I am bound by their respective codes of conduct and The European Code of Conduct for Mediators. Yorkshire Mediation Services is a charity offering services to community groups and not-for-profit organisations. My work as an advisor to the Board is very important to me
